>> Brian Cooley: So you just bought a new 2009 Lexus and you're dammed if you can figure out how to enter a destination. Let me show you how. I'm Brian Cooley with a quick how to on entering destinations and addresses in a 2009 Lexus. This one is an IS350 but they're all pretty similar. First of all your map button; to get started on your whole GPS experience is the one on the upper right. The destination though is a separate button right below it. Press that and you have a variety of choices. The most common one you're going to use is probably address and its right there at the upper left. From there the first thing it asks for and defaults to is the actual numerical address. [Beeping sounds]. You can press that in here on the touch screen or on many of these cars you also have a voice command system. But the touch screen's very good on this car and I find it's one of the easier ones to use so we'll continue that way. You move on then to the street name and again you've got a alpha numeric keyboard that can be set up either qwerty or ABCD and it has predictive text as you can see. It starts narrowing down the choices as I go and when I think I'm very close I can hit list and It'll give me all the matches and once you accept that route you still have 3 more choices you can make if you'd like under the 3 routes button. The Lexus will often give you various ways to get there unless you're really close and it'll show you basically where it takes you on different kinds of roads, different mileage of course and different ETA's. Choose the one you like. Normally it's gonna be quick one or short. Press guide to begin the navigation.

>> To the highlighted route then the route guidance will start.
>> And they'll start talking to you and guiding you on the screen. Oh and by the way if you want to suspend the guidance for some point and go somewhere off the beaten path for a minute you hit the menu button and you'll find suspend guidance right there which puts it on hold until you want to go back to hit resume. So that's it, very simple, touch screen works really well and it's not hard to enter a [background music] destination on this 2009 Lexus IS 350 or other Lexus cars a lot like it.
