>> Okay I have to admit something, I have a soft spot for the 1960s big block Ford galaxies, my 69 XL is obvious example and evidence of that. But Ford, I'm happy to report shares my reminiscence and here's an example of it, this is the Ford interceptor, a concept car, a big four-door sedan with a subtle retro look and you can't put your finger on it immediately until you examine the car carefully. The belt line is the first visual cue, notice how he doesn't rise up in the rear to give the car a wedge shaped like just about every other car made today, they've kept it relatively horizontal which speaks to a earlier looking design, a cleaner design that makes a big car look less chunky. Now under the hood you will find something very chunky a 400 horse power 5 liter V-8 hooked up to a 6 speed manual. I love the idea of a six speed gearbox manually shifted in a big four-door. That is they do hear the rumors and while back about a Mustang sedan, this is it, obviously it's not a Mustang by any luck but it is loosely based on Mustang mechanicals and by the way there is no truth to the rumor about a Mustang station wagon. The Ford interceptor, it's a concept but it could point the way to a very clean look for a future big Ford.
