>> Yep the simple pleasures in life. Good strong cup of coffee, big old green jeep that didn't cost you very much, and none of that technology nonsense to get in your way. Let's go inside the 08 Jeep Liberty at Check the tech lowercase T. [ music ] Let's go to the head unit. AM, FM, sirius satellite radio, disc player is an N dash 6 that rather admirably also does MP3 and WMA as well as standard audio disks. And check this out, it plays DVD's, there's no screen to watch them but apparently you can listen to them, DVD video or DVD audio discs. In terms of what's also here but not really here, check out these buttons. This one would appear to be voice command and a U connect, that's their version of blue tooth, but they're not really there. You hit the button it says not equipped and you can be equipped with U connect, at least as far as their configurator shows on the Jeep website. Navigation not possible, no iPod adapter, but you do have an auxillary input jack and that's on both this upgraded head unit as well as the basic unit. Now the upgraded unit does a lot of things. That's where you get sirius, that's where you get a 6 disc, the basic only has a single but it does play WMA and MP3. Also the basic stereo has 4 speakers around the cabin, they're all in the doors I think, but on this upgraded unit you also get 2 more look like tweeters up here on the corners of the dash. This option package called Premium Sound that brings you all of these extra goodies is like 350 bucks. I can't imagine one of these selling without it. Let's price our Liberty which is an exercise in Liberty from high prices. 21 grand is the base on this guy with a 3 point 7 V6, however that is two wheel drive at that price. Then for less than 400 bucks, get the premium sound package. It adds sirius, it adds the 6 disk instead of 1 disk, still has the MP3 and WMA, also reads DVD audio and video, you've also got extra speakers, the two more in the dash I mentioned, it's a great value. Other options that aren't really tech are what they call a sliding sky roof or something. It's a fabric top that pretty much opens the entire roof, you roll it back ala vintage style or you can get the standard power glass roof. That's 850; the great big fabric slider is about 1200.
