VW sent out an e-mail yesterday, announcing the launch of , a bizarre marketing effort that compares itself to the Kinsey Report. At the VW site, users get to enter what make of car they own, then answer survey questions that generally show what VW owners are likely to do more often. I entered BMW as my car and found that VW owners are 156 percent more likely to have downloaded music. The question doesn't specify if it's legally downloaded or not. Continuing on the Internet trend, VW owners are also 110 percent more likely to chat online and, surprisingly, 153 percent more likely to use e-mail. But these VW owners aren't just a bunch of Internet nerds, as the survey also says they are 87 percent more likely to agree that marijuana should be legalized.
