Verizon Wireless customers eager for the latest thing can now order the new . The new snazzy-looking handset brings a wealth of features, the most prominent being support for 3G EV-DO data speeds and access to Verizon's multimedia V Cast network. And since EV-DO is now finally available in the Bay Area, we're eager to give it a try for real.

The dual-band (CDMA 800/1900) phone mimics the innovative design of T-Mobile's Motorola A630 by offering a folding candy bar form factor that hides a full QWERTY keyboard. The fully loaded VX9800 also promises dual color displays, Bluetooth; support for POP3 and IMAP4 e-mail; a 1.3-megapixel camera with flash and video recording capability; an MP3 player; text and multimedia messaging; a wireless Web browser; syncing for e-mail and contacts; text to speech; a full duplex speakerphone; voice commands and dialing; basic PIM functions; and a USB port. With all that to offer, the VX9800 looks very cool, and we're eager to give it a spin. Check back soon for a full review.
