Nokia fashion phones and new handsets from Sony Ericsson make a welcome addition to the charts, but it's still not enough to knock O2 from the top spot.

Most popular mobile phones of March
Take a look at CNET.com.au's most popular mobile phones for March.

Is there no phone that can budge the O2 Xda Mini from its top spot? Not that we have anything against the cute little smart phone but it has held on to first place for the past three months.

Newcomers to the chart this month include Nokia's fashion flip phone, the 7270 and another smart phone from O2, the Xphone II, which maintains a traditional form factor but has added functionality thanks to Windows Mobile 2003.

Sony Ericsson's new line of phones for 2005 has obviously caused a stir, with the 750i -- which we predict might be the hottest phone of 2005 -- entering in sixth position.

If one thing is clear in March, it's that design is going to play a big part in a phone's success in 2005. Read on to see the rankings of the hottest phones for the month and be sure to leave your opinion of the handsets. Reader Opinion
Being a long time user of PDAs and cell phones, I've never found anything to compare. My previous phone was a P910i, which is simply inferior. Highly recommended.

Sony Ericsson K750i

With a 2-megapixel camera, MP3 playback, FM radio, video recording, Bluetooth, 32MB of internal memory and a 64MB Memory Stick thrown in, Sony Ericsson's K750i might be the hottest phone of 2005. We'll have to wait until Q2 to see it, though.

Reader Opinion
This one could be next on my list of mobiles. Got the K700i. Great phone, hope Sony Ericsson sorts out noise on night pictures and slightly slow access speeds to pictures on phones memory.

Everything a stylish "in" person would want. This is a phone which has all the "in" things in it: camera, changable cases and its a flip.

8.

Nokia 6230

This is a beautifully simple looking phone cleverly disguising a rich feature set.

Reader Opinion
This phone is great. Works seemlessly via bluetooth with my Mac. Great feature with the built-in memory card too. The sound it great with the Equalizer (like iTunes). Display is small unlike others, but is big enough... if you think it's too small, don't buy it. Works for me.

This model mobile is the best I have owned, I won it at a Rock da Block concert in Perth and it has proven to be a really reliable mobile to me, although I have not yet mastered the MP3 player yet I will get there.

10.

O2 Xphone II

O2's latest smart phone, the Xphone II, sheds the bulk of its predecessor and gets decked out in a stylish case.

Reader Opinion
I cant believe some of the comments in this forum. Specifically some people asking what this phone can do that ordinary phones cant. You just have to logon to Handango to see the wealth of software available for the smartphone. Personally I cant live without the world clock and maps of London, Boston and Sydney.
