Sony drops the AX

CBSNews
Sony announced its new desktop replacement today, the VAIO AX series. Having seen the AX in September, we can report that it's a slightly slimmer version of the laptop it will replace in Sony's lineup. The AX will have a 17-inch wide-screen display (which was the A series' brightest and best feature), as well as a built-in camera (also found on the new BX series), an external TV tuner, and--for the first time--Microsoft Windows XP Media Center. The AX series is due to appear on store shelves sometime in November 2005, starting at $2,000.
