So long, Media Center Edition

Microsoft officially that there will be six flavors of the forthcoming Windows Vista operating system. Conspicuously absent in these six flavors are Tablet Edition and Windows Media Center. Windows Ultimate and Windows Home Premium versions of Vista will have Media Center and Tablet capabilities. This means you'll be able to buy Media Center and install it on your own box, which you couldn't do with the XP version. The Tablet capability will also be part of the Business and Enterprise flavors of Vista. Look at Microsoft, getting all generous and full of choices.
