Singapore Airlines was one of the first airlines to introduce entertainment-on-demand to economy and has announced the next evolution — iPod docks!

Singapore Airlines economy passengers flying the Brisbane to Singapore route will be the first to control their iPods and iPhones via the new A330-300's in-flight entertainment system.

The new features will be available from 30 March, before being phased in to Perth and Adelaide routes in April and June respectively.

In addition to the iPod and iPhone connectivity, the new multi-port panel contains a USB port, enabling customers to listen to their own music, view their photos or read PDFs. It also contains an audio-video input, which allows them to plug in their portable media players and watch their videos via the in-flight entertainment system.

iPod functionality made its debut on Singapore Airline's all-business class A340-500 aircraft last year.
