Siemens highlights home Internet gear

Siemens announced a new product line on Monday of home networking equipment made by its Efficient Networks subsidiary. The SpeedStream Home Networking family allows multiple PCs to share a high-speed Internet connection. The product line includes two-port, four-port, and wireless DSL/cable routers and a five-port hub powered by Ethernet technology. Siemens acquired Efficient in April as part of an effort to establish more of a presence in the U.S. market. Efficient is part of Siemens' communications equipment unit, which also makes telecommunications equipment for carriers and businesses.
