Short Take: Topographical maps offered online

Outdoor gear and clothing retailer REI announced it would sell online topographical maps charted by the U.S. Geological Survey. Customers will be able to customize the color maps and download them for $3.99 per item. Initial offerings will include 6,000 maps of terrain in California, Oregon, and Washington. More than 50,000 maps covering other parts of America will be available in a year's time.
