Short Take: Tellabs to continue building gateway hardware

Telecommunications equipment provider Tellabs will continue commercial development of a piece of hardware intended for use in Sprint's network, despite plans by the long distance provider to end its JCS 2000 program. Tellabs was part of an effort that also included Cisco Systems and Telcordia Technologies to build hardware to link Sprint's phone and data networks.
