Short Take: Lucent to license Epigram tech

Lucent Technologies agreed to license Epigram's high-speed home networking technology that allows consumers to network their PCs through standard telephone lines. Lucent also agreed to collaborate with Epigram in its quest to become the standard for 10 Mbps connections. The Home PhoneLine Networking Alliance is expected to choose a standard later this year. Other companies competing against Epigram and Lucent for the standard includes a joint submission by Broadcom and Tut Systems.
