Short Take: IVI adds smart card terminals

International Verifact is providing Canada's Scotiabank with an all-in-one debit, credit, check authorization, and smart card solution for use with Visa Cash. IVI's new "chip farm" sits under IVI's existing point-of-sale terminals. The device allows several smart card formats to be accepted. IVI's product and software have been certified by Visa; Mondex certification will be pursued in the near future.
