Short Take: Fore enhances network management software

Fore Systems announced enhancements to its ForeView network management software for asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) networks. Release 4.1 includes a software architecture that can discover and monitor huge networks of switches and nodes from a single application, a Software Manager that can disseminate software upgrades in a point-and-click fashion, and a tracking tool that can collect perofmance information on ATM networks. Also support has been added for IBM's AIX 3.2.5, NetView for AIX 3.1, and Hewlett-Packard's OpenView 4.1.
