Short Take: Copper Mountain to supply Mpower with gear

Copper Mountain Networks, a broadband network equipment maker, announced a deal to supply Mpower Communications with gear for a voice-over-digital subscriber line (DSL) service, part of an ongoing alliance between the two companies. Mpower said in its first quarter of availability, 12 percent of the lines it sold and 4 percent of the lines it provisioned were voice-over-DSL. Separately, Copper Mountain announced new features to the software that runs on its DSL concentration devices, adding Internet-based voice capabilities.
