Short Take: Cisco to link IBM mainframes to intranets

Cisco Systems announced a new strategy to link IBM's System Network Architecture mainframe environments to intranets. The new CiscoBlue Intranet Roadmap allows users to securely view mainframe data on a Web browser. New products such as WebAccess for S/390 and Cisco IOS software for S/390 underscore Cisco's battle with IBM to bring Big Blue shops into into the Internet age. Also, new functionality in CiscoWorks allows the network management application to locate performance bottlenecks in IBM legacy networks.
