Short Take: Cisco closes buy of Fibex Systems, Amteva

Cisco Systems announced the completion of the acquisition of equipment maker Fibex Systems and messaging software provider Amteva Technologies. Cisco expects a one-time charge of 2 cents to 7 cents per share for in-process research and development expenses to count against fourth-quarter earnings. The company also said it intends to invest $20 million in its India operations, including a rapid expansion of its employee base over the next 12 to 18 months.
