Short Take: Cabletron enhances switching device line

Networking player Cabletron Systems announced a new set of enhancements to its line of switching devices, improving the technology to support traffic based on asynchronous transfer mode, or ATM. The new modules cover the company's SmartSwitch 6500 and 9500 products and is scheduled to start rolling out next month through the end of the year.
