Short Take: Cabletron builds link between Spectrum, Tivoli tech

Cabletron Systems has built a link between its Spectrum network management software with Tivoli's systems management software. The connector synchronizes both software packages, so when a device, such as a router, fails, users are only alerted once. In the past, network administrators heard two alarms go off, a spokeswoman said. The product--called the Spectrum bi-directional gateway--supports Windows NT and Solaris and costs $5,000.
