Short Take: Bay Networks plans integration strategy

The Bay Networks arm of Northern Telecom announced a broad strategy to integrate older networks based on IBM's SNA technology with IP, the dominant protocol of the Net. The strategy includes connection-oriented software for both desktops through back-end data center systems. Included in the phases are tools that address quality of service, advanced routing functions, and user session guarantees.
