Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update starts again
Samsung has cautiously resumed the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S4 after a disastrous previous attempt.
Jelly Bean is coming back to the Galaxy S4. Samsung has cautiously resumed the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update with an improved version of the software designed to tackle problems in a disastrous previous attempt.
The original update was cancelled after phone fans complained the upgrade was causing a myriad of problems for both the S4 and S3. If you've already downloaded and installed Samsung's first crack at the update, a new, smaller update should be available soon to fix the problems.
US network AT&T was first to push the update out to customers, and Samsung phone owners in Europe are now reporting that they can get the update, as spotted by SamMobile.
The software patch is reported to be currently only available on Kies to some users, with a wider release and an over-the-air update presumably to follow shortly.
Even if Jelly Bean proves to be a disappointment, you won't have to put up with it for long: rumours suggest the S4 and Note 3 could be souped-up to cutting-edge Android 4.4 KitKat software as soon as January.
At the time of writing, Samsung in the UK has yet to provide any official confirmation of the update.
