Oracle Power Objects plugs in
Oracle's Power Objects Release 2.0 development tool, due late this year, will include tools to allow client-server applications run directly from a Web browser.

Oracle said its Power Objects Release 2.0 development tool, due to ship late this year, will include tools that allow users to run client-server applications directly from a Web browser.
Power Objects will be able to generate database applications as plug-ins that will work with Netscape Communications' Navigator browser. Oracle said the plug-ins are only 30 to 40K in size, and can be used to replace much bulkier Windows-based custom applications.
The tool will also generate an ActiveX control that can be embedded into any ActiveX-aware application.
Power Objects runs on Windows 95 and NT systems and uses the Basic language syntax, as does Microsoft's Visual Basic development tool.
Oracle has not announced pricing for Power Objects 2.0.
