Optus brings the Australian Open to mobiles
The Australian Open will stream live to Optus 3G mobile handsets thanks to an exclusive partnership with the Channel Seven network.
In partnership with the Seven Network, Optus is offering its customers the chance to watch the Australian Open live on their 3G handsets.
"This partnership has enabled us to launch this exciting service exclusively for our mobile customers so they can experience prime tennis coverage in the palm of their hand, in real time" said Mark Mulder, Optus general manager content and portals.
Customers without 3G handsets can also keep track of the Tennis with updating scoreboards and player profiles on an Australian Open web portal through Optus Zoo located at www.australianopen.optus.com.au.
While standard data charges won't apply to the live video stream, accessing the Australian Open site through the Optus Zoo portal will attract a data cost. It's also worth noting that the live streams can't be accessed with an Apple iPhone 3G.
