Today, the announced its quarterly Top New Vulnerabilities list for Q2 2005. The new list includes significant threats to iTunes, RealPlayer, backup software, and Internet browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Firefox. If you haven't patched these apps recently, you should, as compromised systems could be used by remote criminal hackers for use in identity theft or the distrbution of spam. SANS noted there was a 10 percent increase in new vulnerabilties over Q1 2005 and a 20 percent increase over last year's Q2 figures.
