Korean consumer electronics giant LG today announced two more Chocolate phones -- pink and white KG800 models, identical in form and functionality to the original, which will be released in Australia in October for a recommended retail price of AU$649.
LG's different marketing strategy with the Chocolate branding seems to be paying off, with over one million phones being sold worldwide since its launch in May. A spokesperson for LG Australia couldn't comment at the time of publishing on how many of these have been bought locally.
The pink and white LG KG800 Chocolate phones will be available through most phone retailers including Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile.
We're waiting to hear back from LG about its roadmap for Chocolate phones in Australia. At the lavish launch for the original Chocolate phone in Sydney, LG's marketing manager Carli Wilson said 3G capable versions were on the cards, but couldn't elaborate any further on the company's plans.
