It's business time for AT&T and the iPhone
Enterprise data plans for the iPhone are finally available from AT&T in the following packages:
- $45: 200 SMS messages, unlimited data, visual voicemail
- $55: 1500 SMS messages, unlimited data, visual voicemail
- $65: unlimited SMS messages, unlimited data, visual voicemail
These new plans mean that enterprise customers have the, ahem, luxury of paying $25 more per month than consumers for the same services -- the price for using iPhones with corporate accounts. However, AT&T is offering these customers a $25-per-month discount for "qualified customers" through the end of the year, temporarily eliminating the price premium. Corporate accounts still require the purchase of a voice plan. From AT&T:
"To use iPhone as a business customer, you'll need to sign up for a 2-year service agreement or a renewed 2-year service agreement if you?re an existing AT&T wireless customer. New Corporate Responsibility Users and other corporate-liable users (CRUs) must activate an eligible voice service plan for iPhone and an Enterprise Data Plan for iPhone."
AT&T has also rolled out corporate "data global" plans as follows:
- $25 per month for 20MB in 29 countries (Overage rate is $.005/KB within the 29 discounted countries. Rate outside these 29 countries is $.0195/KB.)
- $60 per month for 50MB in 29 countries (Overage rate is $.005/KB within the 29 discounted countries. Rate outside the 29 countries is $.010/KB with restrictions)
