iPhone firmware/software update 1.1.1 breaks Bluetooth headset indicator (for some)

Ben Wilson

As we continue to report on general troubleshooting issues (not unlock or hack-related) for iPhone firmware/software update 1.1.1, this release has broken the Bluetooth Headset indicator that appeared in firmware/software versions 1.0.2 and prior for some users.

Craig Crossman of the Computer America radio show initially identified this issue for iPhone Atlas, and Apple subsequently confirmed it.

Craig writes:

"After updating to iPhone 1.1.1, while its true that Apple has added a cool little battery status indicator in the upper right corner, they have also broken that really nice green-filled image of the Bluetooth Headset that used to be displayed directly above the big green-filled battery indicator.  It's just gone!  Now it only shows the green-filled main battery.

It appears that Apple is aware of this and are planning a fix.

UPDATE: We're receiving conflicting reports on this issue from readers. Some are reporting that the indicator is still there, others that it has disappeared. Apple has confirmed the issue, but we're still investigating.
