Hit play on the video above to fill your brain with information on HTC's newest toy, the HTC Sensation XL, a phone with a stonkingly huge 4.7-inch display, and Beats by Dr Dre audio tech in tow.

In terms of design, the Sensation XL looks like many other HTC phones -- its rounded aluminium chassis feels heavy, and there's an industrial look to the back plate.

The display is what grabs your attention though. This 4.7-inch Super LCD screen is enormous, and will burn straight through your retinas and into your brain, melting your frontal lobe into gooey grey goop with its bright colours.

Despite being so vast, the Sensation XL is only 9.9mm thick, so it should fit into your jeans pockets without causing too much unsightly bulging.

In the box you get a set of Beats headphones, and when you plug them in the phone will tinker with audio playback to tweak the sound. We imagine this will result in your tunes basically sounding bassier.

The Sensation XL runs Gingerbread, which is version 2.3 of Google's Android operating system. On top of that HTC has seen fit to bolt on version 3.5 of its Sense user interface, which makes Android more colourful.

Screwed on to the back is an 8-megapixel camera, with a low-light sensor that should make it capable of snapping shots in the dark -- perfect for chasing and documenting the secret life of the urban fox.

Vulpology aside (it's not a real thing, but you're just going to have to check), there's a 1.5GHz single-core processor backed up by 768MB of RAM. There's only 16GB of storage though -- that's not expandable and you'll actually only get around 12.64GB of usable space, which is disappointing.
