Last year's phone gets this year's features -- the Android 4.2.2 update is reportedly now rolling out to HTC One X phones, with brand new features in tow.

The long-awaited update is happening to One X devices across Europe, Android Central spied, pointing to XDA-Developers forums where owners of the Tegra 3-powered smart phone are discussing the arrival of the new software.

The update brings Android Jelly Bean version 4.2.2, as well as HTC's new Android skin Sense 5.

You also get BlinkFeed, a news app that replaces your phone's homescreen with tiled, automatically-generated news stories from a slew of sites for you to scroll through.

This feature made its grand debut on this year's HTC One, and while we liked how easy it makes it to check up on friends' Facebook updates, it's annoying that you can't see stories from any sites -- just the news partners that HTC has approved.

The update also brings the ability to mix your videos into 30 second highlight reels using one of 12 different themes, and the power to lock autofocus and exposure when taking photos. You'll also be able to see the battery level in the phone's status bar.

It's not completely clear that the update has arrived in the UK yet. One XDA forum member who claims to have a One X on Orange says it's not made an appearance yet -- I've asked HTC for clarification on whether the update is currently rolling out to the UK, and I'll update this story when I hear back.

Are you excited about a new version of Sense and extra features? Did they take too long in coming, or are you satisfied that your older mobile is still getting fresh features? Let me know your thoughts in the comments, or on our Facebook wall.
