HTC's latest flagship handset, the One M8 comes in two flavors: the one with Sense UI is already available in the U.S., while the unlocked Google Play Edition variant was due to reach customers around April 25.

The good news is that Google seems to have beaten its own estimation and is currently shipping the handsets out to customers who made an early order -- and is set to reach customers by April 15.

And if you had chosen next day shipping, you'll likely already have gotten your hands on the Sense UI-free version of the M8 -- if reddit user haylcron is to be believed.

The HTC One M8 Google Play Edition has similar specs to the Sense 6 version, including a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, a 5-inch full-HD display and a microSD card slot. The Google Play Edition runs stock Android, but some features, such as support for the dual-cameras and the U-Focus photo editing tool, have been ported over.
