HP, Motorola prep wares for cell phone show
Hewlett-Packard and longtime partner Ericsson on Wednesday announced a new lineup of telephone network equipment aimed at the business marketplace. The equipment is capable of assigning a single telephone number to multiple cell or landline phones and can create a consolidated in-box for voicemail and e-mail. The announcement was made as the companies prepare to show off their goods at the 3GSM World Congress cell phone trade show that starts Monday.
Meanwhile, Motorola revealed that Linux OS maker MontaVista Software is powering its recently introduced A768 smart phone that's capable of connecting through a virtual private network. It's Motorola's second Linux-enabled handset.
