We liked HP's first Slimline PC well enough when it debuted back in November, so we're glad to hear today's announcement of the new Pavilion Slimline S7300 series. By adding Windows Media Center 2005, the diminutive PC becomes even more compelling for budget buyers. We should point out, though, that while HP's press material says the new unit will include "the latest in Intel mobile processing technology", it is not, in fact, a Yonah-based PC. Instead it uses the Celeron M 380 chip, an upgrade from the original model's Celeron M 370. Still, at only $480 for the base config, you're getting a great deal. Look for various models on HP's Web site and in stores by the end of the month.
