Hands-on with the LG V50 MP3 player

Just when you thought LG had finished making you drool, it shows us what's in store for us towards Christmas of this year. The V50 is a gorgeous, sleek MP3 player you'll want to touch

LG's most beautiful MP3 player was previously the FM37. At IFA last week, we saw its successor -- the T54. What we've not been able to show you until now, is a model set to launch in the UK in November of this year. Its name is the V50 and it's absolutely stunning.

This ultra-light MP3 player sports a 56mm (2.2-inch) screen, Mobile XD technology for beautiful image quality, video playback, a built-in FM radio and, of course, a touchscreen display. There's no word of a 16GB model, but at launch the V50 will come in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB versions.

We got to play with this sleek black player at IFA and found the sound quality to be excellent, though LG wasn't able to load it up with our typical line-up of songs for testing audio players. The touchscreen is easy to navigate the player's various menus with. On top of that, video playback is smooth, and pictures are crisper than a packet of Walkers salt and vinegar that's been left to go crispier in German sunlight.

Expect to see the V50 just before Christmas in the UK. We were told the 8GB model will sell for around £139, but prices for all three capacities are still undecided. -Nate Lanxon
