Genie's out of the bottle

Frontier Technologies today released version 1.1 of an all-in-one intranet development package called Intranet Genie.

Intranet Genie consists of a stable of software tools for Windows 95 and NT that work with Frontier's Windows NT-based SuperWeb Server. Other servers in the package include a POP3 Mail server, a Domain Name System server, and a discussion group/news server. SuperWeb supports Secure Sockets Layer v2 security protocol.

To store information on the SuperWeb server, Intranet Genie uses the Document Indexer licensed from Verity. Indexed information--whether it's an HTML document, a word processor document, or a spreadsheet--is then accessed using Frontier's CyberSearch client software. CyberSearch includes an organizer that indicates when a document has been updated.

The WebDesigner feature lets users create documents and convert them to Web pages without having to know HTML code. WebDesigner includes an Image Mapper that inserts multiple hyperlinks into a single graphic.

Pricing for Intranet Genie starts at $2,740 for a 5-seat license and goes up to $4,095 for a 50-seat license.
