Former Bay Networks CEO joins Atrica board

Start-up metropolitan networking company Atrica announced that former Bay Networks Chief Executive Andy Ludwick has joined the company's board of directors. The Santa Clara, Calif.-based Atrica is building a set of optical networking equipment for metropolitan networks. Ludwick is also on the boards of Foundry Networks, Crossworlds Software and several private companies. Ludwick co-founded SynOptics in 1985, which merged with Wellfleet Communications to become Bay Networks. Bay Networks was then acquired by Nortel Networks. Vivek Ragavan, the former chief executive at Redback Networks, was tapped to lead Atrica in July.
