Documentum (DCTM) has introduced four new client products to deliver access to its document and Web content management system.

Working with Documentum's recently announced DocPage Server and RightSite software, the new client software tailors corporate information to specific users based on their role, preferences, and security clearance. The four products are designed for information coordinators, contributors, and consumers.

The new applications are ViewSpace and SiteSpace, for users who access information or need information routed to them; SmartSpace, for users who contribute information but want a transparent interface to DocPage Server; and WorkSpace, for users who coordinate work on a team or system.

These applications let users view data via Netscape Communications or Microsoft browsers, popular desktop applications, or specialized document management applications.

Analysts expect the document management market to hit $475 million next year, and it is drawing not just groupware vendors like Lotus and Novell, but also Oracle, Netscape, and Microsoft.

Prices range from $180 to $900 per named user in volume, depending upon functionality and options. SiteSpace is sold as a server license with unlimited user access for $20,000. Some products are shipping now, with others due in early 1997 for Windows, Macintosh and limited Unix platforms.
