Phonemaker Blu Products wants to take out better-known Motorola's Moto G with its own budget model. The Blu Life One X generally sells for $150 unlocked, but is on sale through December 12 for $100.
US-based Blu has been among the more prolific unlocked-phone vendors in the last few years, releasing a steady stream of smartphones stamped with its brand. Like those sold by Alcatel and ZTE, these phones offer promising hardware for a price that undercuts better-advertised phones sold through carriers.
The Life One X specs list reads like a standard mid-level Android phone. It's powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop. It delivers a 5.2-inch screen with a 1,080-pixel resolution. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor.
Inside is a, eight-core MediaTek processor (64-bit, 1.3GHz) and 2GB RAM. Internal storage is pegged at 16GB, however the microSD expansion card slot allows for an additional 64GB of space. Then there's the 2,900mAh battery and slots for two SIM cards.
Blu sells the Blu Life One X through Amazon and comes with a leather flip-view case and headphones. The handset is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile carriers, plus Cricket and MetroPCS, which the former each own, respectively.
