Bay area subscribers sue Excite@Home

A group of San Francisco Bay Area Excite@Home subscribers has filed a class-action suit against the company, charging that it hasn't lived up to promises made in its advertising campaigns. The group is citing many of the same complaints that have littered headlines, chat rooms and newsgroups over the past few years: allegedly slow connection speeds, unreliable e-mail and inaccessible tech support. A hearing is scheduled for July 12. Excite@Home declined to comment on the suit.
