The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will arrive in India on Friday, October 17, with preorders kicking off this Tuesday.

"iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available in India beginning Friday, October 17, from an expansive network of Apple Authorized Resellers," Apple India said in a statement on Monday picked up by The Times of India. "Customers can preorder iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus beginning Tuesday, October 7."

The new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus went on sale on Friday, September 19, in the US, UK, Puerto Rico, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, France and Germany. And the list continued to get longer.

On Friday, September 26, the new iPhones sailed to more than 20 additional countries, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and United Arab Emirates. Apple also announced last week that China would sell the iPhone 6 following the resolution of regulatory issues.

Apple itself didn't announce pricing details for India, but its partners didn't hesitate to reveal the cost of the two new iPhones for consumers.

The 16GB version of Apple iPhone 6 will sell for 53,500 Indian rupees ($870), the 64GB version for 62,500 rupees ($1,014) and the 128GB for 71,500 rupees ($1,162). The 16GB version of the iPhone 6 Plus will sell for 62,500 rupees ($1,014), the 64GB version for 71,500 rupees ($1,162) and the 128GB version for 80,500 rupees ($1,306).

The new iPhones will be available through Apple's distribution partners, specifically Ingram Micro, Redington, Rashi Peripherals and Reliance, The Times of India said.

The iPhone 6 launch in India was reportedly delayed, according to blog site Tech2. The initial launch date listed on Apple's website was September 26. It changed to October 17 and was then removed entirely. Some rumors suggested that the new phone might not reach Indian consumers until November. As a result, models of the iPhone 6 started selling on India's gray market at exorbitant prices.

October 17 also marks the date that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available in China.
