Vizio Reference series: Its best TV ever is coming soon?
[MUSIC]
What you're looking at is a TV so cutting edge that Vizio still can't tell us exactly when it will ship beyond sometime in 2015.
This 120 inch monster is the largest size in the Reference series, a line of TVs Vizio first showed at CES 2014, it also comes in a 65 inch size, but Vizio hasn't announced pricing for either one.
Visio and Dolby both say that the Reference Series will be the first TV to incorporate Dolby vision technology, a high-dynamic range format that will lend special HDR versions of movies, improved contrast and realism.
The Reference Series uses 384 zones of local dimming to achieve that higher contrast, and its color is said to approach the wider gamut of P three DCI.
Judging from its specifications, the reference series should be one of the best performing LED LCDs in the market with a price to match.
The 65 and 120 inch models are identical but for audio.
The massive wall size 120 doesn't include any speakers at all because Vizio figures its well heeled buyers will want to pair it with a custom sound system.
The 65-inch set includes a detachable sound bar along with surround speakers and a subwoofer that Vizio claims delivers the best sound available in any TV.
