And then manually go into Settings and then Privacy to adjust which apps can access to your contacts, calendars, photos, and more.

You might want to adjust how long those messages stick around on your phone.
The default is forever, but shorten that time if you're worried about losing your phone or it falling into the wrong hands.
The iPhone can use your location to send you specific ads and messages.
Limit those by going into settings, privacy, location services, and system services.
To toggle off the ones you want to disable.
You can also limit ad tracking through settings, privacy, advertising.
Choose to limit the ads, and then reset the advertising identifier.
