According to TechCrunch, this would be a competitor to TikTok which is an app popular with teens that lead to users record themselves lip syncing or dancing to popular song.
Facebook has been dabbling in music in other ways recently.
The network lets users broadcast live, lip sync videos to friends, and it now lets users pin a song to a profile, and add a soundtrack to story.
