I've been pretty amazed that the Oculus quest has changed so much in an entire year.
For me, it's mostly about the games.
And I think about Oculus quest as kind of like the Nintendo Switch of VR in that it is standalone and portable, but it also could be your full fledged system if you want it to be.
And the games that make it over to quest.
A lot of these games have already been out For other VR platforms.
I'll tell you about some of my favorites that I keep getting drawn to over and over again.

Who would think that table tennis was one of the most exciting VR apps ever?
Well, it just turns out that ping pong maps itself incredibly well to the motion controls on something like an Oculus Quest.
11 table tennis is a great one and you can use their motion controls that get mapped into realistic looking and feeling paddles.
And there's even a bit of vibration feedback.
So I can go over here and I can hit and I can go over here and hit and I'm playing against online opponents or an AI The physics is good enough that it really feels like it's simulating a ping pong table this English guess.
The under presence is the best theater experience that I've seen in VR.
It looks like kind of like a dream underground.
And you're put there as one of many audience members wearing masks.
And you're there to see this cabaret or to just wander around into the cartoon landscape.
If you've ever played the game Kentucky Route Zero, it's kind of almost like that but it also has some social things with real actors who are in there too.
It feels like nothing else I've ever really done and I'm really fascinated to see [UNKNOWN] actors can transform experiences into virtual performances.
The 100 presents is the beginning of that type of thought process.

Tetris effect is the best synesthetic puzzle game and almost kind of meditation experience.
Tetris Beck launched in 2018.
It was one of the best games of the year.
Period even if you didn't have a VR headset.
Tetris effect is by the same designer who made rez, if you remember that game or luminous, it's trippy.
It's got fantastic music, incredible visuals, they're not quite as good on the class, but the music is great.
And the reflex time is still there.
You can really sit down and just let it sweep over you.
And be in that head space for about 5 to 10 minutes.

Pro Putt is a new golfing game for the Oculus Quest that is also on my favorite sports experiences.
Miniature golf or golf is just a really nice match for VR because you can line up A putter, you can see it there.
You can hit it got a good sense of physics and just feel like you're playing golf for a little bit.
What is the best fitness game?
Well, there are a tonne of fitness games on Oculus quest.
Oddly, because of those motion controls.
There are some great training experiences box VR supernatural [SOUND] You've heard of Beat Saber.
You know what beat Sabre is?

Beat Saber is like Lightsaber music rhythm game, where you're swatting around to hit different arrows and get the timing right.
And a lot of other fitness games on the question in VR kind of fit that similar model.
Doesn't really have to feel like a workout if you don't want it to, but it could ramp up to that.
So I keep coming back to it.
The best theme park experience in VR, I'll probably get to Vader immortal, which was created by ILMX lab.
It's a Star Wars experience in VR told in three parts that feels like a VR film.
Or like an immersive portable version of something that could live in Star Wars galaxies edge.
There is going to be a Star Wars galaxies edge VR experience that comes out later this year.
And it's probably going to feel like an expansion of what Vader immortal is.
But the whole thing really feels like a first person adventure.
mixed with role playing, and it's not that long.
It's only about two hours.
But it really feels like a ticket to somewhere else.

My favorite escape room experience in VR, I probably say is the room VR.
The room VR is an extension of an app that's been on iPhones and iPads for a while and you can get on other consoles, too.
While the room VR is a totally new experience that said in VR, Sarah opening up drawers and turning dials, it's creepy and atmospheric.
It's really well done.
If you want to try something that's a little more competitive and organize echo VR.
And I'm terrible at this game and I got my **** kicked but it was so.
compelling to feel like you were there and I'm about as good as I am in Rocket League, which is terrible.
But you just got to see what it's like.
If you want something a little more relaxing in multiplayer, try poker.
Poker stars VR is a really cool Competitive you know.
Just play for fake money and join up with other people.
And see all the weird avatars that they create.
And I feel like you sitting at the table for a little while.

[SOUND] Moses is adorable little adventure, with his tiny mouse, That has a sword who's going on this big quest in a fairytale kingdom, and one thing that VR does really well is create spaces that can feel really small, and special, and have you stand in them so it's almost like a dollhouse.
And you can peer into the dollhouse.
So this is a game where you're hopping around, and jumping, and using the controllers for that.
But you're standing for observing the whole world that monsters in and you compare your head down into mosses tiny house

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is also a classic and I'm just gonna keep saying classic because the [UNKNOWN] Has a really curated collection of games and they've deliberately taken some really popular games and ported them over.
So Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes has been around as well.
But you're sitting down at these dashboard consoles and making sure you press these buttons and do these things and it's a very active kind of spy themed escape room challenge.
Those are some of my favorites.
