Walmart doesn't let you use Apple Pay or Android Pay, so instead of [UNKNOWN] a way for customers to use these popular mobile payments.
Walmart is rolling out it's own system and it's called, you guessed it, Walmart Pay.
Unlike the Apple and Android options Walmart pay does not use NFC from your phone, and there's no finger print scanning security protection built into the process.
Instead, when you're checking out, you have to pull out your phone to take a picture of a QR code on a screen at the check-out line, and after you're done scanning your items, the order is charged to the card you have on file with that app.

Walmart has been testing this out for about six months.
But it's officially launching to almost 600 stores now across Texas and Arkansas.
More states are coming soon with a nation wide launch planned by mid-way this year.
It seems Walmart hopes this is gonna keep you coming to Walmart by making a little faster to get through the checkout line.
But Having customers learn to use another payment app with a QR code doesn't seem that much faster or easier than just swiping your credit card.
