Easy to use and equipped with a great camera, the iPhone 7 (and 7 Plus, pictured here) are guaranteed crowd-pleasers. But if you're afraid that won't be enough to impress her, go the extra mile and nab the special Product Red edition instead.

In addition to its waterproof design, the G6 has two cameras on the back and includes a wide-angle lens. That means less straining for everybody with those group selfies. And if your mom is active on Instagram (probably to your dismay), the phone's Square Camera app will give her tons of new photo tricks.

With its fantastic camera and useful Assistant software, the Pixel is one of the best Androids around. While we're fond of the 5-inch pocket-friendly original, there's an XL version if you're so inclined as well.

We anticipate the G5 Plus to be one of the better midrange phones this year, and so far it's looking pretty good. With a 12-megapixel camera, a meaty battery and a splash-proof design, you can buy your mom a reliable handset without breaking the bank.

While we wait for Samsung's Note 7 followup after its battery-exploding fiasco, LG has an inexpensive 5.7-inch phone that also has an embedded stylus called the Stylus 3. Good for jotting notes, annotating photos and presentations or just scribbling doodles, it'll help your mom as she goes about her working day.

If your mother prefers the satisfying click-clack of a physical keys (and who doesn't?) the KeyOne comes with a QWERTY keyboard, a convenient shortcut button and extra software security.
