Le Fil Rouge concept is a handsome look at Hyundai's future
Debuting at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the concept car previews the design concepts and elements we can expect from future Hyundai vehicles.
Le Fil Rouge represents a bold new direction for Hyundai's design language.
The sweeping curves and aggressive proportions remind us of Aston Martin and even new Volvos, both great things to be compared to.
The coupe body shape coupled with suicide doors totally works for us.
Hyundai refers to the key elements of Le Fil Rouge's styling as "Sensuous Sportiness."
We love the way that the corners of the headlights form a starting point for a line that flows to the back of the car.
The rear lights also key into that body line, something Hyundai is calling "Light Architecture."
While Hyundai makes no claim to producing Le Fil Rouge, it did state that "Sensuous Sportiness" will make its way into all future Hyundais.
Though, to be fair, if Hyundai did produce this thing, with help from its N division, with a turbo V8, it would knock people's socks off.
It would be like an Aston Martin Rapide but with four-fewer cylinders and at probably half the cost.
Le Fil Rouge is just another example of how Hyundai has left behind its cheap and cheerful roots, and is now a world-class automaker.
Another design concept called "Tube Architecture" brings elements of the exterior design into the cabin -- echoing, for example, the vehicle's beltline with the floating center console.
