US President Joe Biden tested negative for COVID-19 on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning after taking the full five-day course of the antiviral pill Paxlovid, the White House said Wednesday. His COVID-19 symptoms have also "almost completely resolved."
The president will stop isolating but will wear a mask when interacting with others for the next 10 days, the White House added.
"My symptoms were mild, my recovery was quick and I'm feeling great," Biden said in a press conference Wednesday.
The White House on Tuesday released a note from presidential physician Dr. Kevin O'Connor that stated Biden's "pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain absolutely normal."
On Monday, the White House said that Biden's symptoms had almost fully resolved after he tested positive for the virus on July 21. The president is fully vaccinated and double boosted and was reported to have experienced mild COVID symptoms including a runny nose, fatigue and an occasional cough.
