Volkswagen's ID concept is the start of VW's electric revolution
We had some alone time with Volkswagen's ID concept car. This, according to VW, is the future of motoring, even if the concept isn't quite set up for actual driving.
The ID concept is the future of Volkswagen's hatchback lineup.
It'll be the price of a diesel Golf when it eventually goes on sale. So, actually affordable.
The concept is fully autonomous, but the production car won't be.
At least not at the start.
The ID concept has 168 horsepower, and will hit 99 miles per hour.
It runs from 0 to 62 mph in under eight seconds.
Because there's no engine under the hood, there's more space for people and things.
The seats are easy to move, and the trunk is big enough for all you'll ever need.
The cabin is minimalist, the production car won't be as sparse.
It looks pretty cool, no?
As long as you don't mind waiting until 2020 or later, you can have one.
