Available as an upgrade package for base vehicles, R-Design adds a few sporting elements without asking you to take on more power.
As with many of Volvo's other vehicles, it will offer the R-Design package on both its new vehicles, S90 and V90.
Exterior touches include a new grille, blacked-out trim pieces and a five-spoke, matte-black wheel design.
Inside, you can look forward to new pedals, new floor mats and unique trim pieces.
Sportier seats and a new steering wheel design are also standard equipment on R-Design cars.
The interior also features an upgraded ambient lighting system.
Because what good is a fancy new interior if you can't see it at all times?
Order books are open right now for S90 and V90 R-Designs.
Volvo did not mention pricing.
However, if it's similar to the XC90 crossover, I'd expect the package to cost between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on the trim level to which you attach it.
On the XC90, the cost of R-Design gets cheaper as the vehicle's trim level gets more expensive.
